This class teaches the basics of Raw Edge Appliqué.

We don’t use any fusible so the fi nished block is soft and fl exible.

If you love appliqué but are a bit afraid of it, this class makes it

so easy and fun.

Dancing Feathers

 

This class teaches the student how to quilt fl owing
feathers with fl air. We go over how freathers are
constructed and how to quilt them easily. We will also
go over 4 different sashing designs. Feathers have
never been so easy.

 

Supplies needed:
6-22” Squares of muslin (no Polyester).
3 25” squares of squares of batting. I like Hobb’s wool bat.
50 weight Machine Quilting thread,
(Signature or Star brands work best for beginners)
Blue Water soluble Pen.
2 boards: 1/2: by 3” 26” long. Cover with muslin to protect your
quilt.
If you are traveling to class please don’t bring boards.
Sewing Machine in good working order. (That feed dogs drop)
Stipple foot, single needle plate,
Extension table for machine (a must).
90/14 machine embroidery needles,
Tweezers, thimble,
100% cotton Tatting thread for basting, (Top Stitch thread
will work), basting needle,
Glycerin for hands, or Quilting gloves,

Stipple Basics


Have you ever wondered: what, when and why about
stippling. This class will help you understand the
basics of stipple work. The included tutorial shows 12 different stipples and how to use them.

The class will start with the basic serpentine and the
pebble stipple. Then we will move into the more
complicated stipple work. A marked top will be provided if you are taking a hands on class.


Home study students will need to mark the basic
design.
Supplies needed:
1-24” squares of muslin
1-30” square of muslin for back
1-30” piece of batting (I suggest 100% wool)
Blue watersoluble pen
Recommended Thread:
Any of these threads will do.
I do recommend a natural fi ber.
Silk #100 YLI
Cotton Soft Touch 60/2ply tex18
DMC cotton embroidery thread 50-wt
Your favorite scissors
Tweezers
Basting needle to bury threads tails.
You can bring your favorite 50 or 60 wt thread.
